Meet Our Doctor
Heather Johnson, DVM
My name is Heather Johnson. I am a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with a special interest in animal behavior. My passion for animal behavior grew from my love for the human-animal bond. Behavior issues with pets can tarnish that relationship, resulting in stress and poor quality of life. My hope is to provide you with the support and compassion to prevent, manage and solve these behavior issues, strengthening the bond between pet and person. I completed my Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis and my small animal rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. As a general practitioner, I commonly see and treat small animals for a variety of behavioral issues. Through this experience, I discovered pet guardians need for help and the limited resources available. Recognizing this need, I developed Best Behavior Vet to provide support and heal the homes of troubled pets using treatment protocols that are based in science, and psychopharmacology when appropriate.
With Best Behavior Vet you will learn to understand pet-to-parent and parent-to-pet communication in a fun-loving way using fear-free techniques.
In my free time, I can be found on the trail or slopes with my partner, Jason and our two beloved dogs, Lucy and Lily. Best Behavior Vet is dedicated to Lily, my sweet, silly, loving four-legged dog-child with generalized anxiety.
