Initial Consultation - What to Expect (2 hours):
The initial consultation with Dr. Johnson takes a deep-dive into the behavioral issue at hand. Dr. Corbin examines the Pet and its People, including:
- A review of your Pet’s past & present history
- Exploring your Pet’s relationships among family members (pet-and-people)
- Discussing medical history
- Investigating the behavior profile.
- Addressing Pet-Parents goals and lifestyle.
Following the initial behavior discovery, Dr. Johnson will discuss your pet’s diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment options.
All treatment plans are created with kindness and compassion, using a force-free and fear-free approach. The treatment plan, created with the pet-parent, includes:
- Safety and Behavior Management
- Behavior modification, enrichment and education
- Medication therapy recommendations (if appropriate).
Behavior is dynamic and each treatment plan is unique, just like you and your Pet. Together, a customized plan is created that works best for you and your family.
The initial consultation includes 2 months of ongoing support via email with Dr. Johnson.
After 2 months a “Re-Check” appointment is required to continue care. Pending the severity and fluidity of the behavior issue, more frequent “Re-Checks” may be recommended.
